Adaptive Behaviour Assessment System–Third Edition (ABAS–3)

The ABAS-3 is a standardised questionnaire-based assessment focused on practical, everyday activities required to function, meet environmental demands, care for one-self and interact with others effectively and independently. It specifically assesses areas of communication, functional academics, self-direction, leisure, social, community use, home living, health and safety, and self-care skills. Assessment of Motor and Process Skills (AMPS)

The AMPS is an innovative observational evaluation used to evaluate the quality of a person’s performance of activities of daily living (ADL) in natural, task-relevant environments. It assesses the motor and process skills of body position, holding objects, moving self and objects, sustaining performance, applying knowledge, temporal organisation, organising space and objects and adapting performance, to determine a person’s overall level of support needs.

(Assessment 4-5hrs, Score 2hrs, Report 60min)

Beery-Buktenica Developmental Test of Visual Motor Integration (Beery-VMI)

The Beery VMI assessment is used to assess how well children process visual information and use it to produce a motor response using the small muscles in their hands and fingers to write or draw. The assessment involves one main test (VMI) where the child draws and copies increasingly complex shapes. The visual perceptual subtest consists of identifying the matching geometric shapes between others with differing orientation, size, or missing parts. The motor control subtest requires the children to trace within a double-lined path.

(Assessment 30-45 min, Score 20min, Report 30min)

Behaviour Rating Inventory of Executive Functioning–Second Edition (BRIEF-2)

The BRIEF-2 is a standardised, questionnaire-based assessment for children and adolescents ages 5-18. It examines the eight domains of executive functioning, including inhibition, self-monitoring, flexibility, emotional control, initiation, working memory, planning, organisation and task-monitoring.

(Assessment 45min, Score 30min, Report 60min)

Care and Needs Scale (CANS)

The CANS is designed to measure the level of support needs of older adolescents and adults with a brain injury. The CANS comprises of two sections – a Needs Checklist and Support Levels

(Assessment 4-5hrs, Score 2hrs, Report 60min)

Handwriting Legibility Scale (HLS) & Handwriting Observation

The HLS provides an overall impression of the quality of written to establish the extent to which the handwriting allows for effective communication. This is completed in conjunction with an informal handwriting observation that examines a child’s posture and grasp, individual letter formation and sizing awareness or layout on the page.

(Assessment 30min, Score 20min, Report 30min)

Handwriting Speed Test (HST)

The HST provides a norm-referenced assessment of handwriting speed for school students in years 3-12.

(Assessment 10min, Score 5min, Report 15min)

Miller Function and Participation Scales (M-FUN-PS)

The M-Fun-PS is a developmental assessment tool that evaluates motor competency of children aged 2 years 6 months to 7 years 11 months. It specifically assesses a child’s visual motor, fine motor and gross motor skills, and identifies any underlying neuromotor foundational issues. The test items are presented as games that are typical of a child’s daily leisure and school activities.

(Assessment 60-90min, Scoring 30min, Report 60min)

Sensory Processing Measure–Second Edition (SPM-2)

(Assessment 45-60min, Score N/A, Report 60min)

World Health Organisation Disability Assessment Schedule (WHODAS 2.0)

The WHODAS 2.0 is a standardised method for measuring the functional implications of health and disability in the adult population. It assesses six domains of functioning, including cognition, mobility, self-care, getting along, life activities and community participation.

(Assessment 30-60min, Score 15min, Report 60min)
