Occupational Therapy in
Henley Beach
A Clinic Just Down Henley Beach Road
Our purpose-built clinic sits at 1/148 Henley Beach Road, Torrensville, a straight drive down Henley Beach Road from the coast and comfortably within our regular 30-minute community service radius. For many Henley Beach families, that makes reaching us simple, with dedicated therapy spaces and equipment waiting at the other end.
If getting to the clinic is tricky, we can come to you instead. Community-based sessions let therapy happen where your child already learns, plays and grows, so new skills are practised in the settings that matter most. You can see our home base on the Torrensville clinic page.
Therapy Where Your Child Lives and Learns
Therapy looks different for every child, and where it happens can make a real difference. We offer flexible delivery so support fits into your family’s week, not the other way around:
- Clinic sessions at our Torrensville practice, with dedicated therapy spaces and equipment
- Home visits in Henley Beach, so your child can practise skills in their own environment
- Kindy and school visits (with consent), supporting consistency across settings
- Community sessions at the park, playground, beach or shops, wherever the goal lives
- A mix of clinic and community sessions, depending on what you are working on together
Your therapist will work with you to decide which setting best supports your child’s goals, and this can change over time as those goals grow.
What We Help Henley Beach Families With
Whatever brings you here, our occupational therapists start with the person in front of us, not a label. We look at what daily life is actually asking of your child, where things feel smooth, where they feel effortful, and what would make the biggest difference. The areas we most often support include:
Sensory processing
Fine motor skills
Fine motor skills for the small, precise tasks a day is full of
Handwriting support
Emotional regulation
Emotional regulation and building a toolkit for big feelings
Executive functioning
Executive functioning, daily living skills, school readiness and building independence
We are a neurodiversity-affirming practice, which means we understand neurodivergence as a different way of processing the world rather than something to be corrected. You can explore the full range of needs we work with on our conditions we support page.
Support for Every Age and Stage
Learn for Life supports people across a wide span of ages and needs, and we meet each person where they are.
- Toddlers and preschoolers building early developmental, play and self-care skills
- School-aged children navigating sensory, motor and regulation needs
- Teenagers building executive functioning, independence and life skills
- Young adults and adults managing daily living, transitions or a neurological condition
How Getting Started Works
You do not need to have everything figured out before you reach out. Many families come to us during that in-between time, when they are still gathering information and wondering what it all means. Occupational therapy starts with what daily life is asking of your child, not with a diagnosis.
If understanding your child’s strengths and needs first would help, an assessment can be a useful starting point. You can read about the options on our occupational therapy assessments page.
Funding Your Child's
We want support to be as accessible as possible for Henley Beach families. We accept a range of funding so cost is one less thing to work out on your own:
- NDIS, including self-managed and plan-managed participants
- Medicare, via a Chronic Condition Management Plan determined by your GP
- Private health insurance, depending on your level of cover
- Private (self-funded) appointments
- Department for Child Protection funding
If you are not sure how your funding works, we are happy to talk it through. Full details are on our services and funding page.
